An atelier, not a startup.
PhotoOpus is built in Holbæk as a virtual studio: AI generates the portraits, and a photographer steps in if anything looks off.
A team looks like one brand when the portraits are made in the same room.
That room rarely exists. Setting up a photo studio in the canteen is impractical; flying a photographer between 24 offices is expensive. We built PhotoOpus because the infrastructure was missing — not because AI was in vogue.
Software + fulfillment, in the same team.
We're not a pure-AI startup. PhotoOpus blends automation with human quality control — because AI isn't perfect yet, and we won't deliver a result that doesn't make sense. That's what produces our under-24-hour SLA on flagged jobs.
Spin-off from OnDigital. Roots in letterpress printing since 1916.
OnDigital is a Danish digital agency with roots back to letterpress printing in 1916. PhotoOpus started as an internal feature for a printing-industry client and became its own product when the problem turned out to be universal.
How we use AI — and how we don't.
AI doesn't touch the face. It doesn't generate new people. It doesn't synthesize logos or tattoos in or out. If a result looks like it has, the system flags it, and the fulfillment team re-runs.
